Announcing the 2025-2026 Bridging Scholar Cohort
Zoom orientation for Fall 2025 Scholars on August 12, 2025
Dear Friends,
I am so excited to share with you the Fall 2025 Bridging Scholars cohort! Seventy-eight outstanding Bridging Scholars will study in Japan this academic year—59 this fall and 19 in the spring. Sixty-eight percent are Pell Grant recipients (students from low-income families). We held orientation on August 12th and most of our Fall and Academic-year scholars are already in Japan. Good luck to all for successful and fruitful semester!
This is a fantastic group of academically exceptional students who are extremely motivated and passionate about Japan. Many are planning careers either in or connected to Japan that will strengthen US-Japan relations. In today's world, these cultural bridges have never been more important.
I want to thank the entire Bridging Foundation community for helping to make this transformational program possible. Your generosity is opening the world to undergraduates who would not otherwise have the opportunity to study abroad—changing lives and the future of U.S.-Japan relations.
With great appreciation,
Tom Mason
Executive Director
