Brendan Muus - Fall 2022

My name is Brendan Muus, I currently am a Senior studying Finance & Business Economics. On-Campus I am involved in a variety of organizations. I am a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity and sit on various committees within this organization. I also currently serve as a Justice on the UND Student Government Supreme Court. Additionally, I am a member of the North Dakota Student Association (NSDA). In NDSA I am a member of the Internal Affairs Committee which looks at budgeting and handles all financial matters. Upon graduating in May of 2023 with a degree in both Finance and Business Economics I plan on starting my career in the Banking Industry. One of my potential employers includes the FDIC. I have interned with the FDIC for the past 2 Summers and am considering full-time employment.

My time in Japan so far has been incredible and I look forward to ending my semester as strong as it started. I have met countless lifelong friends in the short time I have been here. Being in Japan, I have experienced things I never would have dreamed of. Some examples include seeing Mt Fuji on a perfectly clear day, eating traditional Sushi, and participating in a tea ceremony. During our winter break, I am planning on visiting Sendai and some of the hot springs surrounding it. I have also included some pictures from adventures in Japan.

I wanted to write you this letter to show my appreciation for this generous scholarship. I am proud to have received the Robert Grondine Memorial Scholarship and will strive for further academic excellence to honor that. This scholarship will help to allow me to pursue my study abroad semester at Meiji Gakuin University while minimizing student loans.

Thank you again for your generosity.
Brendan Muus
