Announcing the 2026-2027 Bridging Scholars Cohort

The Bridging Foundation is pleased to announce the Fall 2026 Bridging Scholars cohort. This academic year, 76 outstanding students will have the opportunity to study in Japan—55 beginning their programs this fall, and 21 set to depart in the spring. The new cohort recently participated in a virtual orientation on August 10, and many of the fall and yearlong scholars are already settling into their new surroundings in Japan. The Foundation extends best wishes to all scholars for an inspiring and successful semester ahead.

This year’s group features academically driven students with a strong passion for Japan. Many participants aim to pursue careers that will further strengthen ties between the United States and Japan, and their enthusiasm for cross-cultural exchange is evident. At a time when global connections are especially vital, the Foundation is proud to support these future leaders.

The Bridging Foundation expresses sincere gratitude to its community of supporters, whose generosity makes these transformative experiences possible. Their continued support enables talented undergraduates to immerse themselves in Japanese culture and education, creating a lasting impact on both the students and the future of U.S.-Japan relations.
