Congratulations Spring 2020 Bridging Scholars–Apply for Fall 2020 Scholarships

February 18, 2020

Congratulations to the Spring 2020 Bridging Scholars!

Thanks to you, our donors and supporters, the United States-Japan Bridging Foundation is pleased to announce 20 college students recently received Bridging Scholarship grants to help them begin a life-changing experience–studying abroad in Japan. Jack, pictured above with friends while visiting Ise, is one of the Spring 2020 Bridging Scholars and says, “…thank you again for the opportunity that the Bridging Scholarship provided me.  Opportunity to understand culture old and new, and the opportunity to see the world.”  He created a blog to document his travels and experiences, and share the many photos he’s taken since arriving in Japan last month.  You can take a look here to experience Japan through Jack’s eyes.

Students remain very interested in studying abroad in Japan.  In fact, 12.4% more American students studied in Japan over the past academic year according to the IIE 2019 Open Doors Report.  The Spring 2020 Bridging Scholars were chosen from 230 young adults attending U.S. public and private community colleges, liberal arts colleges, and universities.  This large, competitive pool of applicants affirms Japan’s appeal as a study abroad destination and students’ financial needs.

Thank you for helping to remove financial barriers so that Bridging Scholars like Jack can build global leadership and workforce skills through study abroad in Japan.

Do you know someone who would like to be in the next class of Bridging Scholars? We are receiving applications now through April 10, 2020 for Bridging Scholarships and through May 5, 2020 for Morgan Stanley-Bridging Scholarships
