babatunjiBabatunji Kayode, a Business Administration major at California State University East Bay, has long been interested in Japan. Thanks to our generous Robert Grondine Memorial Scholarship donors, Babatunji is currently enrolled in a year-long academic program at Toyo University, where he is learning about the Japanese culture, people, and language to achieve his dream of working in Japan. Learn more about the Grondine Memorial Scholarship here.

“Being able to study in Japan is an amazing opportunity. It may have postponed my graduation but with the time I have spent here it’s been more than worth it. I’ve whole-heartedly confirmed my decision that I’d like to live and work here. I have made many friends and met a few old ones. It seems like a fantasy to be able to do the things I am doing now. After graduating I plan to continue my studies as soon as possible by entering graduate school in Japan. I am very thankful to the Grondine Memorial Scholarship, as without its help I would not have been able to achieve what I’ve achieved so far here in Japan. I am eternally grateful. I will continue to work hard in my studies.”
